An Afternoon of Mah Jongg, Thursdays, December 1st, December 8th, December 15th, December 22nd, & December 29th, from 1 – 3:30 PM

This program is for experienced players. If you have your own set, please bring it along. If you are new to our group, please register. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Berkeley Library.

DUPLO Play, Friday, December 2nd, at 10:30 AM

We’ll supply the DUPLO blocks and other fun building toys for imaginative free play. This program is for ages 3 – 5 with their caregiver. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Berkeley Library.

Comic Book Club, Monday, December 5th, from 6:30 – 7:30 PM

Do you like to draw, read, or watch anything related to comic books? If so, come to the Comic Book Club. A great space to unleash your inner imagination to create or discuss all things comics! This program is for teens in grades 7 – 12.

The Yarn Dolls, Mondays, December 5th, December 12th, & December 19th, from 6:30 – 8:30 PM

Knit or crochet with the Yarn Dolls. Bring along your unfinished projects.

Craft for Adults with Special Challenges, Tuesday, December 6th, at 10:30 AM

Come to the library to do a craft.  All materials are provided, but please register ahead of time so the library can better prepare materials.

Mitten Tree Day, Tuesday, December 6th, at 6:30 PM

Start celebrating the new season and holidays by making a mitten tree. This program is for children ages 5 – 8.

Kids in the Kitchen, Wednesday, December 7th, from 6:30 to 7:30 PM

Come learn how to make and decorate yummy sugar cookies. This program is for children ages 8 – 12. Space is limited, so please register.

 Juggling with Jared, Thursday, December 8th, at 6:30 PM

Join us for an exciting evening of juggling. There will be a show and lessons offered. Novice and experienced jugglers welcome. This program is for ages 8 & up.

Book Discussion: Nothing Daunted by Dorothy Wickenden, Friday, December 9th, at 1 PM

Wikenden’s biography tells the story of Dorothy Woodruff and Rosamond Underwood who left their families in the east to teach school in the wilds of northwestern Colorado in 1916.

Healthy Holidays with Jennifer Klein, Saturday, December 12th, at 12:30 PM

Learn about healthy food strategies for the upcoming holidays at family gatherings and parties with dietitian Jennifer Klein of Shoprite.


TAB (Teen Advisory Board) Meeting, Monday, December 12th, from 6:30 – 7:30 PM

Help the library stay current with teen trends and hot topics. Have fun while earning volunteer hours. This program is for teens in grades 7 – 12.

Story Time & Sensory Play, Tuesday, December 13th, at 10:30 AM

Join us for stories and “snow”. Dress to make a mess. This program is for ages 3 -5 with their caregiver.

Adult Craft/Snow Globes, Tuesday, December 13th, at 2 PM

Come to the library to make a snow globe. Please bring your own jar and lid. All other materials will be provided.

Woof Tales: Read to a Dog, Thursday, December 15th, from 4 – 5 PM

Practice your reading skills with a trained therapy dog. Perfect for beginning readers and up.


Movie for Adults with Special Challenges, Friday, December 16th, at 10:30 AM

The movie will be chosen the morning of, but will always be appropriate. Attendees are encouraged to bring a snack and/or lunch. Registration is not required, just drop – in.

Senior Movie Matinee: Our Kind of Traitor, Friday, December 16th, at 1 PM

An English couple (Ewan McGregor and Naomi Harris) are approached by a money launderer from the Russian mob (Stellan Skarsgard), asking for their help in deflecting British Intelligence. (R) 107 minutes

Minecraft, Monday, December 19th, from 6 – 8 PM

Play Minecraft at the library. Limited laptops are available or if you have a Minecraft account, bring your own laptop/portable device and join in the fun. To reserve a laptop, please register as soon as possible.  This program is for teens in grades 7 – 12.


Cuddle Up for 1s and 2s, Tuesday, December 20th, at 10:30 AM

Cuddle up with your little one as we share stories, rhymes, songs, and dance. This program is for ages 12 – 36 months with their caregiver.

Dancing and Bumping the ‘Chute, Wednesday, December 21st, at 6:30 PM

Let’s move to the music. Enjoy dance and parachute activities for parent and child together. This program is for ages 2 – 4 with their caregiver.

Story Time & Craft, Thursday, December 22nd, at 10:30 AM

Join us for stories and a cool winter craft. This program is for ages 3 – 5 with their caregiver.

Tween Coloring: Pencils, Crayons, & Markers, Thursday, December 29th, from 4 – 5 PM

Bring your own or use ours and we will color AND design our own coloring pages. This program is for ages 8 – 12.

Noon Year’s Eve, Friday, December 30th, at 11 AM

Celebrate the New Year one day early with dance, crafts, noise, and a countdown to NOON. This program is for ages 2 – 5 with their caregiver.
