3rd Annual Krampus Asbury Park -Paranormal Books & Curiosities Grand Reopening!

On December 2rd 2017 Asbury Park Krampus returns to sort out the Naughty from the Nice in the  3rd annual Krampus Asbury Park. Last year more than 400 people showed up to start the holiday season with this unique & rare look back at German folklore that tells of a horned figure who punishes children that have misbehaved.
This year to celebrate the Grand Reopening of Paranormal Books & Curiosities and The Paranormal Museum in their new home 621 Cookman Avenue, Celebrity Ghost Hunter’s Adam Berry & Amy Bruni will be on hand to enjoy the festivities and judge the KrampusLauf!

“Adam & Amy are the perfect ‘Krampus Marshals” for this year.  They are fun loving and creative people who also have a fantastic new show on TLC called Kindred Spirits, which is exactly how Paranormal feels about them!  I wanted to give something back to the people who have stuck by me for 10 years and especially this last year.  I thought inviting a few paranormal favorites was a perfect way to say thanks and welcome to the new Paranormal!” Said Kathy Kelly, owner of Paranormal Books & Curiosities and organizer of Krampus Asbury Park.
A staple in German and Austrian communities, Krampus is only beginning to gain traction here in the US. “Believe it of not, there are Christmas monsters in folklore all over the world!” said organizer Kathy Kelly, owner of Paranormal Books & Curiosities. Kelly travelled to Austria in September to meet with a Krampus Mask Maker and learn about the history and the art of Krampus. ‘One of my proudest moments was when she told me she had heard of Krampus Asbury Park through people ordering masks for this year.  I love that our little Lauf has reached the mountains of Austria!
People can learn the history of Krampus and the other darker holiday myths in a free walking tour called the Monsters of Yule.  This 45 minute tour walks through Asbury Park’s downtown and is fun holiday story telling. It also introduces people to new businesses off the beaten path.  Like most of Krampus Asbury Park it is free.  It is requested that people sign up in advance, however, by visiting www.krampusap.com, “Last year we had 100 show up for the tour when we were expecting 40!”, Kelly said.
There is a full list of events, including the Krampus Film Festival with The Showroom on Cookman Avenue.  The event schedule is available of the website andyou can add names to The Naughty List directly there.  These names will be read aloud on Saturday 12/2.
