Ocean County residents who need to get rid of household hazardous waste like pool chemicals and pesticides can access any of the next five collection dates announced by the Board of Freeholders.
“We will have five additional collection dates beginning with July 16 in Plumsted Township,” said Freeholder Gerry P. Entitled “Streaming the Creeks and Rivers in the Barnegat Bay Watershed,” this program features stunning images as well as natural and cultural information for the 20 main streams that flow into the Barnegat Bay. Ocean County residents can take advantage of securely disposing personal papers and documents through the county’s free Residential Document Shredding Program beginning in April.
“In 2015, a total of 94 tons or 188,000 pounds of documents were collected and shredded during our collection dates,” said Freeholder Gerry P. New Jersey Theatre Alliance’s “Stages Festival” will celebrate its 19th year of bringing professional, Broadway-quality programs to Ocean County Library and presents them to the public, free of charge.
The program was created in 1981 to encourage New Jersey residents to attend their local professional theaters by making the experience affordable, accessible and fun. Since its inception the program has served over 190,000 people of all ages.

Join vegan cooking guide Nancy Bonta Voitko as she prepares vegan soups and stews to warm you up on a cold winter’s day at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 18 at the Beachwood Branch, 126 Beachwood Blvd.
Voitko serves as the branch manager of the Lacey branch of the Ocean County Library and has experience in preparing a variety of vegan dishes. Her program, “Warming Winter Vegan Foods” is sponsored by the Friends of the Beachwood Library. Please alert of any food allergies.
