Ocean Health Initiatives, Inc. (OHI), in partnership with the Head Start development program of O.C.E.A.N., Inc., has announced that the OHI mobile medical unit will be visiting several local Head Start program sites March 29 through April 5, 2017, to conduct dental exams, specifically for the children in Head Start programs. Five branches of the Ocean County Library will screen the documentary “Screenagers” in December. The documentary explores the vulnerable corners of family life, social media, video game and Internet addiction.
The Brick Township High School Drama Club will present the play “Arsenic and Old Lace” the weekend of Nov. 4-6.
The Drama Club was last year’s recipient of the Ocean County Teen Arts Award. Tech week is underway for the production, which highlights local high school students.
The show will be held on Friday, Nov. 4 at 7:00 pm and Saturday, Nov. 5 at 7:00 pm and Sunday, Nov. 6 at 2:00 pm at the Brick Township High School Auditorium at 346 Chambers Bridge Road. Continue reading “Arsenic and Old Lace”
OCEAN COUNTY seniors are encouraged to attend informational seminars to learn more about 2017 changes to Medicare plans and how it may affect their individual health benefits and coverage.
“The Ocean County Office of Senior Services will be providing assistance to our seniors who may have questions about changes to Medicare or who need to make plan changes,” said Ocean County Freeholder Joseph H. The Brick Rotary Club is a civic organization that works on projects to benefit the community. This summer, two of their most recent projects focused on the younger members. One annual project, spearheaded by club members Evelyn and Doug Stratton is supplying backpacks for the start of school. The Strattons, coordinated the collecting, shopping, stuffing and delivery of backpacks for local students and with the help of Gail Dempsey and Joyce Van Haeren, they delivered 40 backpacks and several extra bags of school supplies to the Interfaith Hospitality Network in Toms River. More than 15 professional artists will display a sampling of their finest work during the Ocean County Library Foundation’s Art Show and Sale from 6-9 p.m. Saturday, September 17 at the Brick Branch of the Ocean County Library, 301 Chambers Bridge Road.
“Art Renews the Spirit of the Jersey Shore” will feature artwork from a variety of mediums, including watercolor, oil, sculpture, photography and glass.
