Brick Drama Club Production The Curious Savage

The Brick Township High School Drama Club Presents The Curious Savage on Friday, Nov. 17th at 7pm and Saturday, Nov. 18th at 2pm and 7pm in the Brick High School Auditorium, Chambers Bridge Rd., here.

The Curious Savage is the story of an elderly widow whose husband has left her $10 million dollars. She intends to give the entire fortune away to people who wish to pursue their “foolish dreams,” but her stepchildren strongly object. To prevent her from doing away with their family’s wealth and ruining their legacy, they have her committed to a sanatorium called The Cloisters, and it is among the gentle residents there that she finds her true family.

Directed by Ms. Cheryl Best, the cast of students includes Lauren Boyle as Ethel Savage, her step children, Zack Shiess (Titus), Carli Kreminski ( Lilly Bell), and James Baracia (Samuel). The residents are Christan Brando (Jeff), Zack Bliss (Hannibal), Samantha Paradise (Florence) , Brynn Umbra (Fairy) and Rachel D’Elia ( Mrs. Paddy). The cast rounds out with Carly Sullivan (Miss Willie), George Morano (Dr Emmett) , Sam Graziano, John MacIntosh, Lauren Dyke, Brianna Kruzinski, Camren Pellot, Katie Zigo and Lauren Dyke as nurses and doctors.

PrimeTime Center Opens Its Third Location – Now in Brick

PrimeTime Center, a day habilitation program for adults with developmental disabilities, has opened its third location at 485 Brick Boulevard, Brick, New Jersey. The other New Jersey locations are 60 High Street, Carteret, and 240 Broad Street, Eatontown. Eligible adults can apply for PrimeTime Center services through the Division of Developmental Disabilities. Transportation is provided to and from the program for participants who live within a five-mile radius.

The mission of PrimeTime Center is to help participants live life to its fullest by practicing independent living skills, such as meal planning, shopping, money management, travel training, housekeeping and using appropriate computer applications and digital tools to solve real life problems.  Continue reading PrimeTime Center Opens Its Third Location – Now in Brick

Planetarium Experience Coming to Two Ocean County Library Branches

The Ocean County Library will present “What’s Out There…A Planetarium Experience” at the Barnegat and Brick Branches.

Barnegat Branch: 7 p.m. Wednesday, September 27,112 Burr St.
Brick Branch: 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 24, 301 Chambers Bridge Rd.

From the comfort of a portable planetarium, teens will assist the presenter, Matthew Meyer, by locating stars, planets, and the moon as they appear in the evening sky.

Learn to perform with confidence while practicing vocal warm-ups, simple musical theatre dance steps, while practicing to sing and dance with appropriate feeling.

Practice techniques to improve diction, vocal expression, posture as well as learning simple harmonies, an introduction to reading music, and many other good habits while singing and dancing.

Immediate Care and Central Jersey Blood Center to Host Blood Drive

On August 24, Immediate Care Medical Walk-In will host a blood drive at their Lacey and Brick locations. Due to the critical need for blood each year in July and August, Immediate Care has collaborated with Central Jersey Blood Center, a nonprofit blood collection and distribution organization, to contribute to the urgent need of blood in New Jersey.

The blood drive will begin at Immediate Care Medical Walk-In of Lacey, located in the Lacey Medical Arts Building, at 833 Lacey Rd, Forked River, from 9AM-11:30AM and will then move to Immediate Care Medical Walk-In of Brick, located at 8 Brick Plaza from of 2PM-4:30PM. Immediate Care Medical Walk-In of Brick Celebrates Ribbon Cutting

On Thursday, August 3, Immediate Care Medical Walk-In of Brick hosted a ribbon cutting for their newest location in Brick Township. This is the first joint facility for Sal Cannizzaro, CEO of Immediate Care Walk-In Management LLC, Dr. Daniel Reizis PT, DPT, NASM-CPT, founder of Advanced Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and Dr. Klara Reizis Pharm. D., R.Ph, owner of Modern Medicine RX. The multi-purpose facility is located at 8 Brick Plaza, off NJ State Route 70.

Immediate Care opened in Brick this past April and offers patients a convenient option for urgent care, physical therapy and rehabilitation, and retail pharmacy. Ocean County officials are getting ready to gradually phase in the last traffic changes needed to complete Interchange 91 in Brick Township beginning with the traffic signal at Lanes Mill Road on Aug. 7.

“We anticipate the bulk of the work will be completed in about a month,” said Freeholder John P. Kelly, Director of Law and Public Safety. “Once all the traffic signals are working properly, signage has been installed and the remainder of the work is done, the improvements at the interchange will be open to motorists.

“We are looking forward to completing this work,” Kelly said. “Interchange 91 improvements are expected to increase safety and reduce commuter congestion.”        According to the Ocean County Engineering Department, the new northbound Garden State Parkway entrance ramp on Lanes Mill Road east of the parkway will open on or about Thursday, Aug. 10.
