Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser

St. Pius X Church in Lacey Township is having a Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser on March 4, including entertainment and a Tricky Tray for Domenic Frangella.  The price is $15.00 per person and includes the dinner, salad, rolls, dessert and liquid refreshments.  Tickets can be purchased in advance at the church office or at the door.  The dinner is from 5:30-8:00 pm.  All receipts will be donated to the Friends of Domenic Fund to aid in offsetting his expenses.  Domenic is a man respected and loved in his community for his volunteer work in helping those in need.  Domenic has recently undergone a double lung transplant procedure, and his recovery is proceeding with remarkable success.  His progress and prognosis for full recovery is amazingly positive. Domenic has devoted many years as a leader of a group from St. Pius X Church named the “Samaritans” whose primary function is to provide assistance to those in Lacey Township who are hungry and needy.  This is done with understanding and compassion while providing food and sometimes temporary monetary assistance due to shut off of heat or power as well as other special needs.

The costs of continuing physician care, medications, and therapy will be ongoing.  Domenic has not been able to work for several years, and these costs are beyond his ability to make such payments.  His health insurance policy does not allow for extensive coverage.

The good news is that Domenic will now be able to continue the leadership directions of the “Samaritans” and all without the need of breathing through an oxygen generator.  The following note from Domenic’s daughter really says it all.

If you have spoken to my dad, Domenic Frangella, even once, I’m willing to bet he made some sort of impact on your life.  That’s just the way he is and he doesn’t even have to try.  He’s been through quite the battles in his sixty years, starting at age 34, he had his first bout of cancer, next leukemia with a bone marrow transplant which left LOTS of side effects including but not limited to, pancreatitis, weakened immune system, and loss of lung capacity…which brings us to the latest battle which began on November 30th…A double lung transplant!  While we cannot fight for him, we can support him emotionally, spiritually, and financially.  To hear both my parents already worried about finances, instead of just focusing on his recovery, just breaks my heart.  If you can help this wonderful man, who always has it in his heart to help others, along with my incredible hero of a mom, Roseann Frangella, who has been by his side all these years, we would greatly appreciate it!!

Most importantly, please continue to keep my dad in your prayers!

Voting was done by the 200 plus visitors who stopped by to admire and take family pictures with the trees. Continue reading Season to Season Service
