Continuing & Professional Education at Ocean County College is offering Sensitivity Super Powers for Autistic children. Classes are held on Ocean County College’s Main Campus, College Drive, Toms River, NJ (unless specified).

AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN

Sensitivity Super Powers is an enrichment program for high-functioning Autistic children, ages 5-12 years old, created to align sensory sensitive kids with their “super powers” and become the hero of their own story. This program focuses on each child’s unique abilities and fosters empowerment, confidence, and compassion. Children will be exposed to art, music, yoga, and animal, laughter, and play therapy. Ocean County Library Seeking Prom Dress Donations

The Ocean County Library is seeking donations of gently used prom dresses beginning March 1 for their eighth annual Prom Dress Giveaway.

Donations can include gently used, modern dresses in both long and short styles, in a wide range of sizes. The library is not receiving donations of bridesmaid dresses, shoes, or jewelry. OCEAN COUNTY PREPARING FOR THE APPROACHING WINTER STORM

WITH THE WINTER’S first significant snowfall predicted to hit late Thursday and early Friday, Ocean County’s road crews are gearing up to remove whatever Mother Nature decides to leave behind.

Bingo with Santa

Please help support Bingo with Santa on December 10th from 12 to 4 pm at Lacey Elk’s Lodge # 2518 located at 900 Beach Boulevard, Forked River, NJ. This event is sponsored by the Lacey Elk’s Special Children’s Committee. Lunch will be served from 12 – 1 pm. Bingo will be played from 1 – 4 pm. Bingo prizes to be awarded will be gifts in lieu of money.  All games are free of charge. Hope to see you there.

Lighthouse International Film Society Presents FIRE and WATER screening and Q&A

Lighthouse International Film Society is pleased to announce the screening and Q & A of FIRE AND WATER on  Saturday November 26 with – director Thomas Brookins. 

Does anyone know how long the sport of surfing has existed?  There have been surfers in NY rumored as early as the 1800’s. The film starts with New Yorker Don Eichin as a young man in 1957 traveling to exotic Hawaii to become a Merchant Marine. While working on a ship & exploring the waters of Honolulu, a young woman teaches him to surf.
