The 10 MANHATTAN SHORT finalists hail from eight countries, with France and Australia represented by two films each. These Final 10 short films represent the best among a record 844 submissions from 52 countries received by Manhattan Short for 2016, testimony to the enduring vibrancy and creativity of the short film genre. In addition, for the first time, all of the Final 10 short films are Oscar-qualified, meaning they are automatically eligible for an Academy Award nomination.

Fall is in the air and food trucks are back at the Seaport with “Truck”erton Food Truck & Cider Fest on Saturday, October 8 from 11am-6pm. The Seaport will host 12 gourmet food trucks from all over the East Coast, bringing a flavor blast to the Jersey Shore this time inspired by the flavors of Fall. Does your mouth water for fresh Apple Crisp or Apple Pie?
Joe Jakositz of the Culinary Arts Class in Brick and the Culinary Arts Class and instructor at the Ocean County Vocational School, along with Lacey Historical Society’s volunteers, will be baking apple crisps and apple pies for the 23rd Annual Apple Festival; the Festival is on Saturday, September 24 in Lacey Township and baking occurs at both the Waretown Vocational facility and at Lacey High School. With assistance of Historical Society members and friends, this intergenerational group bakes about 75-100 two-pound containers of apple crisps and around 100 homemade apple pies. Everyone enjoys the excitement of a summer carnival. It brings out the child in all of us. Since 1975, St. Francis of Assisi Parish has been hosting the Festival of the Sea Carnival, annually.
