The Lacey Township Municipal Alliance, along with the L.T.H.S. AADA, will sponsor a Halloween Costume Parade & Coloring Contest, Saturday, October 21 from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Lacey Township Middle School, Denton Ave., Forked River.
Pre-registration by Thursday, October 19th is $7.00 for toddlers through 6th Grade. Admission includes tickets for two hot dogs, a box drink, a trick or treat bag, and other goodies. Registration after October 19th, or at the door, is $10.00 per child. Additional drinks and hot dogs will be available for purchase. Adults and siblings not participating are free.
The picture for the Coloring Contest will be sent home through the schools. It will also be available at the Lacey Recreation Office and Lacey Library. Winners of the coloring contest will be announced that day.
Come join us for pumpkin decorating, games, cupcake decorating, crafts, prizes, a costume parade, plus much more! Pumpkins available to the first to the first 175 participants. DJ Mike will provide entertainment.

Police Officers Anthony Sarno and Christopher Meyler from the Lacey Township Police Department and Firefighters Edward Barker, JR and Robert Anderson from the Forked River Fire Department who received the National Liberty Museum’s Award of Valor on Tuesday, September 12. The Awards of Valor honors extraordinary polic officers and firefighters for their remarkable acts of heroism and for being role models in their communities. The Awards of Valor recipients, whose stories are gripping and inspiring, are brave individuals who put themselves in dangerous situations to keep all of us in the community safe. Police Officers Anthony Sarno and Christopher Meyler from the Lacey Township Police Department and Firefighters Edward Barker, JR and Robert Anderson from the Forked River Fire Department were recognized for their heroic acts in freeing an entrapped 81-year old woman from a garage that was fully engulfed in flames. Then come to the Lacey Branch of the Ocean County Library System on Wednesday, September 13 at 7 PM for a presentation entitled: “Learning to Fly”. It will be presented by Melissa Lekas, a small plane pilot, and President of the Garden State Angels Chapter of Women in Aviation. Women in Aviation is an international group of women and men who encourage people to fly or to pursue careers in the aviation field, by offering networking support, mentoring and scholarships.
