In a small town, when someone is able to achieve success or celebrity, it’s a BIG deal. Rhett Titus was born in Toms River, raised in Forked River and graduated from Lacey Township High School. Today, Rhett is a professional wrestler who travels all over the globe for his matches. Recently, I had the opportunity to chat with Rhett about his journey from small town teen to wrestling on national television.
Rhett’s life has always revolved around wrestling and he recalls some of his earliest memories being centered around the ring. “I can’t remember a time where I wasn’t obsessed with wrestling. The NJLN, an affiliate of the National League for Nursing (NLN), has been serving New Jersey and celebrating excellence in nursing since 1915. The Annual Nurse Recognition Awards Gala was established by NJLN in an effort to recognize nursing excellence and benefit nursing education. Representatives from Quaker Steak & Lube and Chevys Fresh Mex restaurants owned and operated by local franchisee, Doherty Enterprises, present a check for $2,000 to the Tinton Falls-based Beauty Foundation for Cancer Care, an organization dedicated to helping inspire courage, strength and confidence needed to those affected by cancer. To raise funds, Quaker Steak & Lube restaurants in Brick, Edison and Pohatcong and Chevys Fresh Mex restaurants in Clifton and Linden donated a portion of proceeds from sales of “Pink Drinks” sold during October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The donation will help support Beauty Foundation for Cancer Care’s goal of easing the overwhelming financial and emotional strains associated with cancer treatments of those suffering from cancer.

OCEAN COUNTY officials are hoping to make this holiday season the most wonderful time of the year for everyone and are asking for your help.
“We are encouraging our citizens to help those less fortunate by participating in the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Annual Toy Drive,” said Ocean County Freeholder John P. Kelly, Director of Law and Public Safety. “This drive has helped hundreds of families and children in past years and we want to do the same in 2017.

The 18th annual Breakfast With Buster Holiday Food & Toy Drive returns to FirstEnergy Park on Saturday, December 9th from 9 am – 11 am. This year’s event is presented by Rosko’s Bagels in Jackson.
Once again, Buster will be joined by his holiday friend, Santa Claus, at the event, which is free to the public. The BlueClaws ask that those in attendance bring unwrapped toys and/or non-perishable food with all donations benefiting the Salvation Army of Ocean County.
