In partnership with Fulfill (formerly, The FoodBank of Monmouth & Ocean Counties), United Way of Monmouth and Ocean Counties is offering free personalized tax preparation at its Financial Success Center (FSC) in the Freehold Raceway Mall. Housed in the Meridian Community Resource Center, the FSC provides free, comprehensive resources under one roof to help people move from financial difficulty to economic well-being.

BlueClaws Host Annual Job Fair on February 3rd

The BlueClaws will be holding their annual Job Fair on Saturday, February 3rd from 8 am – 2 pm at FirstEnergy Park. The team will interview for all part-time, seasonal positions that run from April through the team’s last home game.
“Our operation relies heavily on our gameday staff, and we have been fortunate to have such outstanding gameday employees over the years,” said Kevin Fenstermacher, BlueClaws Vice President of Events & Operations. “We look forward to another great turnout at our Job Fair as we find even more future BlueClaws Gameday Staff stars!”

Super Plunge XIII Set For Super Bowl Sunday Brant Beach

The 14th Annual Super “Plunge” Sunday is scheduled for Super Bowl Sunday, February 4, 2018 at 1:00 PM. Participants are invited to brave the icy, cold Atlantic Ocean, and will have plenty of time to be home for the big game. Super Plunge XIV, a fundraiser organized by St. Francis Community Center and the Swim Teams of Southern Regional High School, will take place at the 48th Street Beach in the Brant Beach section of Long Beach Township. OCEAN COUNTY CLERK APPLAUDS NEW LAW REGULATING DEED PROCUREMENT AND SOLICITATION

Ocean County Clerk Scott M. Colabella said a newly signed state law will help residents from being overcharged for certified copies of deeds by private vendors.

WINTER STORM GRAYSON CLEANUP COST ESTIMATES OVER $725,000

Ocean County officials today released preliminary cost estimates associated with the cleanup of Winter Storm Grayson which was elevated to blizzard status by the time it hit the shore in the early morning hours of Jan. 4.

“Our departments were staged and ready to go at midnight,” said Ocean County Freeholder Director Gerry P. Little, who serves as liaison to the Ocean County Road Department. “This was a storm that dropped almost 19 inches of snow on some areas of the county. The snow combined with high winds and frigid temperatures made it difficult to cleanup.
