The Lacey Township High School Fishing Club is running their 9th Annual Fisherman’s Flea Market on Saturday, January 13, 2018. Our event raises money to fund fishing trips for our student members throughout the year. It’s from 9 AM to 2 PM at the Lacey Township High School Gymnasium. Entrance fee is $3.

OCEAN COUNTY officials are hoping to make this holiday season the most wonderful time of the year for everyone and are asking for your help.
“We are encouraging our citizens to help those less fortunate by participating in the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Annual Toy Drive,” said Ocean County Freeholder John P. Kelly, Director of Law and Public Safety. “This drive has helped hundreds of families and children in past years and we want to do the same in 2017.

Donating that candy stash proves to be easy when it benefits U.S. troops serving overseas who could use a sweet treat from home. For the 13th year, Rotem Dental Care held its annual candy drive and buy-back program, rewarding children with a dollar a pound, up to 10 pounds, for their candy; and giving special prizes to the individual and club that donated the most candy.
Aidan Miller, age 10, Beachwood, won $50 for bringing in 17 pounds of candy, the most by weight. Aidan, a Cub Scout for four years, dressed as Voldemort from Harry Potter, went to two Trick or Treat events, and rode on the Scout float in the Toms River Parade.
