The Great American Rivalry Series is proud to announce it will feature Friday’s game between the Toms River North Mariners and the Toms River South Indians in the Series’ 11th weekend of games for 2017.
This year marks the 35th year of the rivalry that has become known as The Civil War. The Mariners and Indians are 2-2 against each other over the last four seasons. National nonprofit World T.E.A.M. Sports announced today the opening of athlete registration for the October 8 Face of America Libertybicycle and hand cycle ride from the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York to the World Trade Center in downtown Manhattan.
The 54-mile ride, presented by Northwell Health, is an inclusive ride honoring military veterans who were injured or disabled during their national service. It follows a trial run in October 2015. Athlete registration will be capped at about 150 riders for the October event. Of the participating athletes riding to Manhattan, approximately 30 adaptive veterans will be invited to ride. These athletes live with loss of limb, paralysis, Post-Traumatic Stress, Traumatic Brain Injury and other disabilities; yet turn to bicycling to keep physically and mentally fit. The BlueClaws Extravaganza returns for a third year on Saturday, September 2nd at FirstEnergy Park. The event is a full day of family fun, starting at 3:30 pm and running through that night’s 7:05 pm BlueClaws game against Kannapolis (White Sox).
When the gates open at 3:30 pm, kids can enjoy free rides and a petting zoo along the outfield concourse. Rides include the Polar Extreme Obstacle Course, Giant Carousel Bouncer, Wild One Obstacle Course, and the Chaos Obstacle Course. Outside the park, there will be Touch-a-Truck and additional games as well.

Shore Town Baseball is pleased to announce that Joe Ricciutti has been named President & General Manager of the BlueClaws. Ricciutti was president of the Staten Island Yankees from 2007 through 2011 and was recognized by Ballpark Digest as the Minor League Executive of the Year in 2008.
Since 2011, Ricciutti has been the Assistant Vice President, University Event Management at Columbia University where he led the division that provides event management, venue rental, and food and beverage services for over 34,000 events annually across the Columbia University campuses. Ricciutti oversaw a staff of over 150 full-time and 250 part-time employees and the business grew significantly in his six years at Columbia. He had previously worked for both the Staten Island Yankees from 2001 to 2004 and Columbia University from 2004 to 2007.

Shore Town Baseball, a newly formed group headed by Minor League Baseball veteran Art Matin, and including local investors Bob Tamashunas and Bill Luby, both residents of Monmouth County, NJ, has reached an agreement to acquire the operating interest in the BlueClaws.
Matin was previously the CEO of Mandalay Baseball Properties, which owned and operated nine separate franchises over its existence, including among others the Dayton Dragons, Oklahoma City RedHawks, Frisco RoughRiders, and Scranton Wilkes-Barre RailRiders. This followed a successful career in the tech industry that included senior positions at IBM, McAfee Security, and Veritas. He also served as chairman of MiLB’s Baseball Internet Rights Company (BIRCO) from 2010-2014.
Luby and Tamashunas are partners at Seaport Capital, a private equity firm that has a history of investing in minor league baseball through its majority ownership of Mandalay Baseball Properties.

For the 10th time, the BlueClaws become the BruceClaws! Bruce Springsteen Appreciation Night is Saturday, July 29th, presented by Kean University.
The fun starts at 5 pm when the E-Street Shuffle plays live in the Coors Light WRAT Trap from 5 pm – 7 pm as part of the
TD Bank Summer Concert Series. There will be $2.50 Miller Lites throughout the night as well.
During the game, BlueClaws players will be wearing special BruceClaws jerseys. These jerseys will be auctioned off with all proceeds to benefit BlueClaws Charities and their Community Partners.

The BlueClaws will host a “Nut Free Day” at FirstEnergy Park on Friday, June 16th at the team’s 7:05 pm game against Hickory (Rangers). The entire ballpark will be peanut-free and no peanut products will be used in food preparation or available for sale (peanuts, Cracker Jacks, etc), giving those with peanut-allergies the chance to experience BlueClaws baseball!
The June 16th game is BlueClaws Let’s Make a Deal Night with themed fun throughout the game. Additionally, after the game, enjoy some of the best post-game fireworks at the Jersey Shore thanks to Wawa.
