The Waretown Library Branch have an event on Saturday, March 16 at 11:00 am entitled, Keeping Bees. Here’s a great opportunity to ask an expert about the life of bees: from different qualities of honey to the crucial role they play in keeping our gardens and food chain healthy. Michael Long, beekeeper for Uriah Creek Apiaries, will also explain how to maintain your own hive, or just simply how to support these tiny pollinators. He will also provide samples of honey for tasting. Please register.
On April 6 at 11:00am the library will hold a program entitled “Edibles in the Landscape”. Imagine walking through your attractive garden, plucking a choice herb here or a plump fruit there, adding to a more diverse, healthy, and fresh diet for you and your family. Berry Jones, from Rutgers Master Gardeners of Ocean County, will show you how to incorporate edible plants into your landscape. Not only will you learn how to enhance the beauty of your garden, but also how to use these plants to stop erosion, weeds, and back-breaking work. Please register.
