Children’s Puppet Show Coming to Seven Library Branches

The Ocean County Library Puppet Show Players will transform “The Princess and the Pony” picture book into a wonderful children’s puppet show at seven library branches during February.

Children and families will enjoy the story of Princess Pinecone’s birthday. She would like nothing more than to have a horse fit for a warrior. Her parents surprise her with a pony that doesn’t quite meet her expectations. Princess Pinecone may realize there is a warrior in the little pony after all.

The story of the “Princess and the Pony” was developed and illustrated by Kate Beaton.
Beaton, a Nova Scotia native, created her first picture book after years of drawing the little round pony. She is the author and illustrator of the New York Times bestseller “Hark! A Vagrant!”
