July 12, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. – For the second year in a row, Community Reformed Church is looking forward to welcoming the Pineland Symphonic Band for an exciting afternoon concert which we have dubbed, “The Philharmonic in the Woods.” Sponsored by our Church Arts Council, It has become a summertime tradition for us to have this wonderful live instrumental music right in the comfort of our “living room,” without the bugs, mosquitoes, and traffic jams that sometimes come along with summer concerts. Band director Jack Milkowitz has planned the music for the 2015 season with a mix of music for all tastes, (kids of all ages will enjoy the“Shrek” and “Wizard of Oz” selections), ending with the patriotic music we love anytime but certainly in July. Note: We do not sell tickets but there will be a free will offering.
And speaking of music … at our worship service on April 19th, we welcomed our new music ministry team, Gwynneth and Bob Mahns. Under their inspired leadership, we continue to celebrate the joy of spiritually uplifting music, vocally in Choir and congregation, as well as instrumentally. Most recently (May 31) under Bob’s gifted direction, the newly formed Chimes Choir along with our French horn soloist made their debut in our sanctuary. As they play together, Gwynneth’s lyrical piano and Bob’s gifts on the organ continue to surprise and delight us musically in weekly Sunday worship. We look forward to their continued direction as we raise our voices and instruments in praise of “He who was and is to come.” (Revelation 4:8)
If you have no church home in the community, you are invited to worship with our friendly congregation and to hear the Good News of the Gospel l proclaimed in word and music.
