In his recent column (“Musical Notes”) in the “Asbury Park Press,” Carlton Wilkinson wrote that “Singing is the key to long life, a good figure, a stable temperament, increased intelligence, new friends, super self-confidence, heightened attractiveness and a better sense of humor.” He also said that “members of a choir know that singing in a group is a great joy, a social bonding, a physical exercise and a spiritual renewal that can help balance out the stresses of everyday life.”
In that spirit, it was with a sense of eager anticipation that rehearsals for the Crestwood Chorus Holiday Concert began on schedule in September. We were happy to welcome many new members, and all of us were delighted with the scope and diversity of the holiday music we will be singing … with something for everyone including some musical surprises and lots of excitement! We will share more information later about the concert selections with you so stay tuned! Meanwhile, rehearsals will continue during October and November on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. at Community Reformed Church, 30 Lacey Road. For more information, please contact our president, Nancy Matosko, at 732-350-9322.
Don’t forget to mark your calendar: Crestwood Chorus Holiday Concert, Dec. 1, 2013 at 2:00 p.m., Community Reformed Church, 30 Lacey Road, Whiting. We look forward to sharing our holiday joy with you.
A little song, a little laughter, as together our voices rise to the rafters … and, as always, may a song be ever in your heart!
