Stockton Golf Classic and Special Clinic Set for Sept. 26 at Seaview Hotel & Golf Club

Registration is now open for the Annual Stockton University Golf Classic, to be held on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at the Stockton Seaview Hotel & Golf Club, 401 S. New York Road, Galloway, N.J.

This year’s event will also include a separate golf clinic led by Mays Landing native and PGA Professional Joanna Coe.

Among the tournament’s highlights is a chance to win $1 million by making a hole-in-one on a par 3. One lucky golfer could win a trip to Pebble Beach with a hole-in-two on a par 5.

Charles Weeks, founder and president of Barrister Wealth Management and an assistant professor of Business Studies and Finance at Stockton, is sponsoring the Million Dollar Hole-in-One Challenge. Bonnie D. Putterman ’85, a Mays Landing attorney, and Michael C. Epps of The Epps Law Firm in Galloway are sponsoring the Hole-in-Two Challenge.

The event begins at 11 a.m. with registration and lunch, followed by the 1 p.m. shotgun start,  scramble format. There will also be a 50/50 raffle, auctions, contests and prizes for men and women golfers. A cocktail reception, dinner and awards ceremony will begin at 6 p.m.

Each tournament golfer will receive a $50 gift certificate to be used the day of the tournament in the “Under Armour Mobile ProShop.”

Tickets for the tournament are $250 per individual or $1,000 per foursome.

In addition to the tournament, there will be a golf clinic led by Coe at 3:30 p.m. Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced clinics are available. Clinic tickets are $125 and include dinner. The clinic is sponsored by Dr. Barbara Chamberlain, RN, ’90.

Chairing this year’s event is Wendy Bartlett, senior vice president/team leader Fulton Bank of New Jersey.

Proceeds from the Golf Classic support the Stockton Foundation’s mission to continue to enrich the student experience. Last year’s Classic raised more than $50,000.
